Before beginning any exercise routine it is majorly important to make sure that your body is equipped for what you are about to put it through. The body is a living machine that will work for you beautifully if you train and condition it properly.  I'm sure that most of us can attest to Physical fitness giving us great benefit in mind, body, and spirit...but it is no secret that when you exercise your entire body goes through physical stress. Therefore, we must make sure that we prepare our bodies for the work that its about to endure. Part of this preparation is making sure that we "S-T-R-E-T-C-H."

  • Stretching is a way of protecting the body from undue injury. 
  • Stretching loosens the muscles.
  • Stretching gets blood flowing.
  • Stretching gently raises your pulse. 
  • Stretching adds flexibility.
  • Stretching helps you to get the most out of your workout. 
  • Stretching helps you to recover after workouts. 
  • Stretching limits muscle soreness.

Stretching will not build muscle, stamina, or endurance; however, It will help you to reach your goals in these three categories without unnecessary injury and soreness. "No one wants pain." Pain hinders progress and get you off your game...

"The Art of Gratitude in the Face of Trials."

"Living With Gratitude is Truly an Art." When you add gratitude to your life, Life takes on a whole new out look. Challenges seems accomplish-able, Trials seem manageable, and your journey will seem effortless. Gratitude is the art of being able to be thankful or appreciative for "ALL" things. Sometimes in life, we may see our struggles as a hindrance but... "Are They really?" Struggles are meant for strength training, not to weaken us. Our trial are meant to make us wiser and resourceful (mentally, physically, spiritually, nutritionally, financially, etc...), They are not meant to bury us. Although, many have literally buried themselves in self-pity and grief, leading to their own destruction and/or demise.

As we walk through our journey of life, It takes less effort and work when we learn the art of being grateful. Although, I am the first to realize that feeling grateful when in a trial, can sometimes be a distant thought, a complete fog... but, we must remember several things:

  • What are we to learn from these trials? 
  • How can I pass them? 
  • Am I dealing with this effectively?
  • Am I dealing with this rationally?
  • What can I do to not find my self in this situation again?
  • Is my actions appropriate and will GOD (Highly Glorified is He) be pleased with them?
Our lives and our trials are as different as finger prints, What may be a negative trial for one person, could very well be a positive trial for someone else. Having gratitude will help us see things a little more clearly, with a brighter outlook, and the ability to think positive. Putting the best construction on "matters and people" is "HUGE" when it comes to "Living with the art of gratitude." This will promote rational thinking.
Remember: A trial is like stress, It's not always bad, but it can have the same effects on the mind, body, and spirit.

Understanding Allergies

Allergies have become a serious epidemic in the west. Every year this epidemic increases by 10%, which; if left unchecked, could produce a larger, more serious problem for our western countries. However; this equally speaks a lot about the pollutants that are contaminating our air, water, and food supply. There are many types of allergic reactions. Allergens effects everyone differently. You may experience allergies to one thing, or you may have a combination of problems. But regardless to whether a person is allergic to one thing or several things, reactions should always be counted as serious matter. 

Allergies can mask and present themselves as: Skin irritants & Acne, Depression, Sore Mouth, Digestive Problems, Weight Gain, Tiredness, Moodiness, Respiratory Ailments and more...

We must be aware that a great deal of what we ingest has a lot to do with our quality of life. We must learn to eat and drink those things that will give our bodies the proper nutrients and minerals that are needed in order to sustain a healthy and strong immune system. We must also take heed to the warning signs of our body’s rejection of certain foods, chemicals, and toxins that we come in contact with.  We should note how our body reacts to intolerable foods, cosmetic, household items, and environments. "Maintaining Your Quality of Health"

Some people feel that learning the human anatomy is for doctors, biologist, or those who are in the health care industry. However, a big part of caring for ourselves and our loved ones is learning "who you are" inside and out. (If you have pets, I would say that they are equally deserving.)

Being aware of our mind, body, and spirit will definitely work in our favor. We will have the knowledge to care for ourselves effectively whenever possible... and we will hold the tools to remain in a state of well-being. To understanding the body's primary function is to understand how healing begins and where to start.

The Nervous System:JOB: Collecting, transferring and processing information with brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and nerve endings. 
  • The Musculoskeletal System: JOB: Muscle movement as well as structural support and protection with bones, cartilage, ligaments, and tendons.
  • The Immune System: JOB: Protect against disease by identifying and killing pathogens and tumor cells.
  • The Lymphatic System: JOB: defending against disease-causing agents with leukocytes, tonsils, adenoids, thymus, and spleen.
  • The Gastrointestinal (digestive ) System: JOB: digestion and processing food with salivary glands, esophagus, stomach, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, intestines, rectum, and anus. 
  • The Endocrine System: JOB: communication within the body using hormones made by endocrine glands such as the hypothalamus, pituitary or pituitary gland, pineal body or pineal gland, thyroid, parathyroids, and adrenals or adrenal glands.
  • The Respiratory System:JOB: Organs used for breathing, the pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi, lungs, and diaphragm.
  • Circulatory System: JOB:  pumping blood to and from the body and lungs with the heart.
  • The Reproductive System:JOB: The sex organs for reproductive purposes.
  • Integumentary System: JOB: Promotes skin, hair and nails.

This list of systems are all very important for our well being; therefore we should try and make it a priority to understand them. In having such an understanding, these systems will better help us in alternative treatments for illnesses and ailments.  It will also make it easier to pinpoint systematic weakness and imbalances. God -Willing, you will conclusively be able to prevent disease from creeping in and ruining your quality of life. 

You don't have to be an ND, MD, or PhD to understand the basics of mind, body, and spiritual wellness; which, in most cases, is all that it takes to maintain a quality of health... just takes willingness to learn and a little bit of study time.
